Sending you hearts, love & a special DJ Valentine

Hello DJ Darlings!

Can you feel LOVE in the air?!  Hearts, chocolate and cupid shooting an arrow to my heart are just a few reasons I absolutely love February and Valentine’s Day.  I try not to focus too much on whether or not my sweetheart will ‘remember’ the date or bring roses. (I let that go a long time ago!)  My best memories of Valentine’s day have always been from elementary school.  We would make a red and pink covered Valentine holder or ‘mailbox’ from an oatmeal can or shoe-box.  I remember sticking those little candy hearts on my homemade cards with Elmer’s glue (they never stuck!)… and best of all my Mom was the ‘room mother’ for our class party.  She would make homemade cinnamon rolls every year.  Ahhh, those were the good ol’ days!  (Btw… if you need some inspiration, we have a very cute printable set to help YOU make a super-cute Valentine Mailbox!)

I still send Valentine cards to all my friends and family.  This year… I’m giving YOU one too!  It’s a cute, easy printable of the Valentines that I’ve created so we can all share the love.  The link to access this FREEBIE is only available from the DJ Blog.  It’s a special thank you for being a supportive and loyal DJ fan!
valentines
I’ve been on a watercoloring kick lately… so that’s how I put mine together. Nothing too fancy, just a cheap little watercolor set and a brush.  Yours are in black & white so you can have fun with the coloring part… or bust out the ol’ watercolors too!  A card that you put a little homemade touch to speaks much sweeter than a card from the store.  Print a page or two for yourself, your kids…. or print lots and share them with your class to color and exchange!

lovewords

I made these cards using clip art from our new “DJ Love Words” collection.  (Hearts and words are my favorite things to draw.)  We have SO many cute clip art sets and sweet DJ fonts to help you create a smile for Valentine’s Day!  Click here to check them out now… and feel the love!

Much love and Happy Valentine’s Day to YOU!!

Dianne

P.S.  Wanna help us share the love & DJ smiles?  Refer a friend to DJ Inkers!  If they place an order before Valentine’s Day… YOU will earn 200 DJ reward points per friend!!!  (Regular reward is 150 points.)

Smiles & Holidays Around the World

Happy holidays friends!

We hope that the season has brought you nothing but JOY and merriment so far!  We’ve been hustling, bustling and creating holiday smiles since October… so our heads are simply SPINNING with visions of sugarplums.  lol  It has certainly been fun though… and we hope you’ve enjoyed the SALES & smiles we’ve shared with YOU too.

For us, the best part is ALWAYS seeing the things that YOU create with our clip art and fonts.  With a week left until Christmas, we simply had to share with you some of these wonderfully inspiring projects for ‘Holidays Around the World!’  It’s a lot of fun learning about some of the holiday traditions and cultures that are so different from our own… and these projects certainly gave us some new insights.  We are so grateful to these truly gifted teachers & bloggers who shared their time and talents with us this holiday season.

First… we have some adorable printable learning booklets created by Patty at 2ndinline.blogspot.com.  Her project helps students (2nd-3rd grade) to learn some of the holiday traditions of Africa, Germany, and Mexico. (Perfect for centers or small groups.)  First, they read about each country and then match up 4 fact cards for each place.

patty

We learned a thing or 2 about Hanukkah from Ashley at justreedblog.com.  She created a “Fluency Fold-Up” for students to get practice with sight words, Tier 3 Vocabulary, reading, comprehension, writing, and drawing.  (These Fold-Ups are truly an all-in-one product!)  We love her simple, straight-forward presentation.  🙂

Next up, we were most impressed with Anita (at anitagoodwin.com) who used this cute holiday clip art to make a fun MATH activity!  Her place value (holiday themed) QR Code Riddles collection can be used with any Math Series or Place Value Unit of study.  What a great way to make math FUN!!!

live2learn

Kindergarten Nana shared with us a book that she created… highlighting five countries, with a couple of pages about each one.  She says “I would use this book along with lots of fun activities that help children get a glimpse of the different customs and celebrations.”

Marian’s unique sewing and quilting creations always amaze us.  It’s so fun seeing the art come to life in a real-life project!

Visit seamstobesew.com and check out the cute ‘mug rag’ pattern she made using the kangaroo from our Christmas in Australia download.

Wendy at 1stgradefireworks.blogspot.com also featured this collection for us this year… she used the images to dress-up her post with a little holiday smile!  Click here to shop our ‘Holidays Around the World’ collection now!  You SAVE 35% by getting the complete collection… but you can download the individual countries/holidays too.

We hope you’ll take a moment to visit these blogs and see ALL of the fun things they do.  Do YOU have a blog?  If you do… and you’re interested in working with us, please let us know!  We LOVE working with bloggers because it’s a win-win for both of us!  Just email smiles@djinkers.com with your blog link and we’ll be in touch!

Have a very MERRY holiday season and smiles to YOU!!!

Cute teacher projects (& freebies) to inspire your classroom!

Dear DJ teacher friends,

We find ourselves shocked, once again, at how fast the time has flown by.  Hopefully you’re all settled into the new school year by now… and the back to school season was a breeze.  It certainly kept us busy this year …which is GREAT!  (That’s probably why the time has gone so fast too.)  But, before we FALL completely into autumn… and Halloween, then Thanksgiving & Christmas (yikes!)… we simply HAD to pause and share some incredible classroom smiles with you.

We can’t say enough how much we LOVE seeing the things that YOU create using our clip art and fonts.  🙂  This back to school season, we were fortunate enough to see SEVEN wonderfully creative teacher projects as we promoted our classic teacher clip art collection, Kidillywinks.  These projects definitely inspired us… and we hope they’ll inspire YOU too.  Just click on any of the images below to visit the blog post about that project.  MOST of them are FREEBIES for you to download & enjoy!!!

First… we can’t wait for you to see these adorable Puzzle Counting Strips for young learners!  (Counting by ones: 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, & counting by tens: 10-100.)  Created by Patty Rutenbar at 2ndinline.blogspot.com

Next up, you’ll love these fun Brag Tags by Wendy at 1stgradefireworks.blogspot.com.  Use these after assessments, goal setting, report cards, etc.  What a great way to encourage hard work and smiles among your students.  😀

Kindergarten Nana made several really clever creations for her classroom this year.  Shown here, she used Kidillywinks to add some character to her Kindergarten schedule, and created some great activities and printable board games for her students.  Read all about these projects (& more) at dbsenk.wordpress.com

Kindergarten Projects

Kara Rickman at rickmankara.blogspot.com used our Kidillywinks graphics to create a fabulous Back to School writing and graphic organizer packet.  “Your students will LOVE these writing and graphic organizers because it’s all about them! (And, who doesn’t like to write about themselves????)”

Back to School Writing Ttemplates

You’ll always find something innovative and cute at Fun-A-Day.com.  Mary Catherine created some printable homework calendars for her classroom… and made them editable for YOU to enjoy too!  When she lists daily homework for young kids, she likes to include a variety of tasks that kids can do – sometimes with their families, and sometimes on their own. “My goal is for my students, and their parents, to see how learning can take place in a wide variety of ways.”  Be sure to check-out her post for more thoughtful words about homework & directions for using her free printable.

The last 2 projects were so AWESOME, that we featured them on a previous blog post during Back to School.
